View Full Version : burning a gi....... to many files.......
Hello everyone here is a newbie question,,, back up a dv-r game to the pc's hardrive with primo but it created 3 gi files instead of 1 file wish is the most comon thing. How do you burn 3 gi files to a dvr?
Can someone shine a light on the subject or point me in the right direction to some literature.

I believe Windows has something to do with a 2 gigabyte limit on files, but don't worry because PrimoDVD or RecordNow breaks anything over that into different parts. [such as game.gi, game(11).gi, game(12).gi] After you save these files to your harddrive, open just the game.gi to write to DVD and the software will use all files.
There's a great tutorial at http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/Primo_Tutorial.htm.

Its actually not Windows itself.... Its the file system of your hard disks.... If you hard disks are formatted using FAT32 then the 2 GIG limit applies.... If they (your hard drive) use NTFS then the 2 GIG limit DOES NOT APPLY......

Well as long as we are getting technical, BG.
FAT 32 has a 4gig limit. Windows ME
FAT 16 has a 2gig limit. Windows 95 98
The update fixes the problem for all versions of Windows.
