Magic II Installtion TIPS *please*

After the installation of Magic II for my PS2 v7 I can play some back-up games and some games I can't play what is the problem can someone help? btw PS1 games couldn't even boot it went to NO DATA screen. I follow diagram exactly from http://www.china-magic.com/. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

note: Even games that I copy with 2X doesn't work, media I use is Verbatim and Fuji

Are you sure you're using the Correct Boot Method?
For Ps1 games..
1.Turn the Machine off(Standby mode)
2.Turn the machine on while holding down the reset button till the Black Brower screen comes up or at least till the Browser is about to come up.And then let go the Reset button obviously.
3.Now load the Ps1 game and close tray pressing the eject button and Reset. It should work.
This is the method someone told me and it works 100% of the time. Almost identical method to booting PS2 games..

Hmmm. On the Magic 2 chip that I have, you hold reset until the blue light on the eject button comes on, and it will then boot PS1 games. Never had to do the rest of that procedure.

This is the boot method straight from the Magic 2 site:

With the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed:

- For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required.

- For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

- Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode (PS1/PS2/DVD)


You don't buy chance have a PAL V7 PS2 do you?
Just wondering because the PAL V7 with a Magic 2 installed WILL NOT PLAY PS1 games from any other region other than PAL PS1 games....
Just a thought.....
