modchip on v3? [Archive]

Do I need to install a modchip with a v3 ps2 or is it enough to use an AR2?

Its a good idea to get a modchip. There is another way to do it without a modchip but you will wind up harming your ps2 a lot more.

DEFINATELY get a modchip..... Go for the Messiah or Magic 2 mod chips... They direct boot EVERYTHING... :cool:

I may be wrong BG but I think the Messiah is for v4 only and the Magic 2 is for v5 and up.

Your partially right.... The Messiah is for the US v4 @ this time (until the US messiah comes out)...
But the Magic 2 will work on V3-V7's.....
And a Magic 2 has been installed on a V1 (although not rec YET):cool:

Oh, also.... The Official Magic 2 site says that it will support EVERY PS2 (V1-V7) with the exception of the 10000 and 15000!
