i didnt think it matterd wat game it was but 4 now the game is fifa world cup 2002 my burner (i think) is prasi primo dvd
No. He meant what sort of burner is in you computer e.g.: CD or DVD burner. I have a Plextor 12/10/32A CD-RW, an LG DRD 8120B DVD Rom drive and a Pioneer AO4 DVD-R/RW drive. We need to know whether the game is CD or DVD based because different formats require different settings. For CD and DVD games I would use NERO Burning Rom as it is very good software. You can get a trial version from megagames.com
Below are some tutorials for copying CD based games.
1. Open Nero.
2. Go to File > CD Copy
3. Go to the Copy Options tab.
4. Make sure your CD ReWriter has the PS2 CD in it. Click on the drop down menu and select it.
5. Select a read speed which is suitable for your CD ReWriter.
6. Select the Read Options tab.
7. Put a number 2 in the box which is labelled Number Of Retries Before Read Error.
8. Tick Read Media Catalogue Number And ISRC (slower)
9. Untick Ignore Illegal TOC Type.
10. Select Continue Copying.
11. For Data Mode 1 select Force Raw Reading and from the On Errors dropdown menu select Write Uncorrected.
12. Repeat step 11 for Data Mode 2.
13. Under Audio Tracks select Read Audio Data With Subchannel and select Ignore Read Errors.
14. Make sure Use Jitter Correction is UNTICKED!
15. Select the Image Tab. Select a drive from the dropdown menu and a location for the image file to go.
16. Click the Burn tab.
17. Tick Determine Maximum Speed.
18. You may tick Simulate if your drive supports it. This is optional.
19. Tick Write.
20. Check Finalize CD (if it isn't already checked).
21. From the write speed menu, select 4x (600 KB/s) or lower.
22. From the write method menu, select Disc-At-Once.
23. In the Number Of Copies box, put how many copies you would like to be made.
24. Tick BURN-PROOF if the drive is compatable.
25. Make sure Use Multiple Recorders is UNTICKED.
26. Click Copy and let Nero do the rest.
For Copying DVD Based Games Do This:
1. Put the PS2 DVD into your DVD Burner.
2. Open Nero.
3. On the first window, click the Wizard button.
4. Check the DVD Button then click Next.
5. Check the Copy A DVD button and click Next.
6. From the dropdown menu, select your DVD/RW. Click Next.
7. The Burn button should already be hilighted. In the Write Speed dropdown menu, select 1x (1,380 KB/s). This may be changed if you use branded media e.g.: Verbatim, Apple or Traxdata DVD-R discs.
8. Click Burn.
9. A dialogue box should appear asking where you want the image file to be saved (at least 2.7 Gig free space is needed).
10. Once the image has been saved to the Hard Drive, you should get the File Browser window. Ignore it. Insert a blank DVD-R Disc into the DVD-ReWriter.
11. If you have more than one DVD-R drive, click the Choose A Recorder Driver icon. Select your writer and click OK.
12. Click on the Open An Existing Compilation button (The file icon). Go to the location where you saved your image file earlier.
13. Hilight it and click Open.
14. The Burn DVD window will re-appear. Click the burn button to start burning the image to a blank DVD-R disc.
15. Once this has completed you will get a success message. You can choose whether or not to save the Log file.
16. Close Nero.
Congratulations. I hope this post has been a lot of help not only to you but to others as well. my site PS2 Place will be on the net in another couple of days. Just click the www. icon underneath this post. Hope this was helpful both to you and others...

Hello guys, I just have a quick question about backing up with Nero. I am trying to back up a game with Nero and it says it will take 71 hours to READ the disk. Its been reading for 1 hour and is at 1%. Does this sound right?
I have tried to back up with Nero before and just gave up after a while.
Thanks for you comments.

Is your disc scratched? If so that can slow down the reading a lot. Try using another program like CloneCD or CDRWin.

Ok Tyler, thanks for the fast reply. I am using CloneCD and it says it will take 17 minutes to copy. Much better. I have Nero so I wanted to figure out how to back up my games with it. I've not had much luck with Nero on doing anything though.
Thanks again, mark

if the game is an ea game can you still just copy it with nero or do you have to patch it to get rid of the protection? thanks

As far as I know, you still have to get past the protection. I haven't had any luck with this yet. I can play MOHAA without the disk with Daemon tools' "Emulation" running. But I can't back it up onto a disk and play it on my other pc....yet!
