Clonecd and a ap i just installed a tested both say my acer can write RAW DAO, so does this mean i can copy like as if it was a liteon?

No....and sorry to be harsh but Acers suck.If you just bought it,return it asap. Not only do they have problems with copy protections, but they also have (bad) problems with corrupting files on install.Safedisk is a nightmare to Acers:eek:

This is my CD-RW......cheap and it rocks!!!

How about the Liteon 40125S? I've got less problems with Protections.
When you have CloneCd look into the help file under the Writerlist. Almost every writer with two points on correct EFM-encoding should be okay.

Not to defend Compaq or anything but I have a Compaq P.C. that I got VERY cheap and the LG writer on it is awsome for making backups (I sure I just got lucky). I haven't ran across one yet that works better for making game backups (tried many). Anyway Compaq = HP now. I would suggest staying FAR away. Now instead of of using cheap parts they use cheaper parts.

I have a Sony CRX175A1 and have already made 1:1 copies of my Morrowind, Never Winter Nights, and Dungeon Siege games. :D
