I know this may sound like a stupid question but what is the eject trick? I know only a few mod chips can do this but i have no idea what it is!
Opens Xbox CD/DVD tray without resetting the xbox.

Cool! But how does that benefit anyone? Ok I know this sounds stupid knowing the Xbox's Power but isn’t the reason it resets anyway because the Xbox can't run its games on its memory? Also have you ever tried this trick? if so what happens. I know I’m pretty annoying :) but I just like to know my stuff before I look further into it.

I too would like to delve into this...
When u have eject trick, does this mean, for example if ur in a game that if u press eject the xbox returns to evox?
Or is the eject trick mean that if u press eject during a game, it stays in the game frozen, or static?

The trick is also handy when watching movie files from a disc i.e mpeg and avi's using Xbox Media Player, as the xbox wont re-boot if u decide to change discs.

It is meant for copying games. EvolutionX was commonly played from a disk way back when, instead of an alternate dash. You used to load evox up, then switch disks to copy the game. It isn't needed too much now, but can still come in handy every now and then. (and in emulaters, u can switch rom disks)

omg lol.
Ok, turn off your modchip. Load up an original game in the xbox. Play it for like a minute, THEN, press the eject button. Notice how the xbox resets. The eject trick stops the xbox from resetting when you press the eject button. So if you were in that game with the eject trick hack, your xbox would not reset to the dashboard, the game will likely freez though.
So... When your in evolutionX, you can press the eject button to put in an xbox game disk. It will not just reset, then load up the game as normal. Instead, evox will still be loaded, so you can copy the game.

I have noticed that it comes in handy when the laser cant read the disc, then u can just take it out and try to clean it and put it back in and it starts loading again.
You know I don’t mean to get nit picky here, but I think what your all referring to is the “eject fix” not trick.
As Quall said it was mostly used easier in XBox modding, but since most people just install EvoX on their XBox now most people don’t use it.

Now sorry the this stupid question so once you press the eject button in a game and it doesn't reset how do you change games without turning the xbox On and Off, with IGR turned off
For example, if i play RTCW and then decide to play GTA,
thanks

u could possibly have igr in ur bios
dependin on what it is, and what version
if u do not have it in ur bios and whatever bios u have does have the eject thing ud have to turn it off and start it with a new game
Now sorry the this stupid question so once you press the eject button in a game and it doesn't reset how do you change games without turning the xbox On and Off, with IGR turned off
that is not what the eject fix is for. you are talking about removing a game mid play and booting another, thats why the xbox reboots when you eject the disc tray.
the eject fix is exactley what quall and rms have already told you.
early on the xbox scene the eject fix was developed so you could copy you'r games via evox without it rebooting every time you wanted to insert a new game disc. evox would detect the game disc and aid quicker copying.
