View Full Version : help burning cd image!!!!
i recently got cd images of games. i just burn it using cdrwin and it play well with my modded ps2. but there are few games that won't let me play it. i tried burning numerous cds so that i can play but failed. here is what i have:
us ps2...version 4
ar2....*see below
neo chip...*see below
*i'm not sure which version...it was ther already when i got it. i believe version 2 for neo chip and ar2
teac 524e with firmware 1.0d
have several burning prog...
-cdrwin 3.8g
-easy cd creator 5 pla
-cd mate deluxe 2.2.3.8
-clonecd 3.3.4.1
-padus diskjuggler 3.50.818.u
-nero 5.5.64
i mostly used cdrwin and it works fine but i can't seem to get couple of game working.
Sky Gunner USA Miracle-->cue and bin file
Hot Shots Golf 3 Kalisto-->cue and bin file
and few others....
does anyone know what is going on? i been reading and here is what i found out...
-something about cd writer doesn't support ecc??? i'm not sure what they mean.
-backup for my chip can't be greater than certain size(i think 650)??
i know those file works because i have several people saying they work. if anyone know what is going on, please send me help. thanks.
i forgot to mention that i just used cdrwin to load cue sheet and set the speed to 1. this worked for other games. i also tried using other cdr...vervatim datalifeplus.
i'm only a begginner at this so i can only try and help... some ea games and others need to be patched... you can find patches at such sites as http://www.psxcopyworld.com/ you can also find tutorials at how to burn your games different ways... so give that a go and hopefully it helps... sorry if it doesn't
to patch games use ppfomatic... its a program, i haven't used it yet so not too sure how it works.
thanks for your reply. i tried patching games but no luck...either there is ne patch or i'm not doing it right. it seems simple. i just follow the direction that comes with ppfomatic. it said patch successful. it didn't work. i'll try the ea patcher. i didn't do that. how do i know if the game is ea?

sorry the site is http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/
to find out if its ea try looking up a review and preview site... www.ign.com and then click on ps2... check out the game and see if it ea... i know its a long process but can't think of anything else...
also, one more question about booting. i boot my back up following way:
insert ar2 boot disk
turn off and restart while holding reset button until menu screen
release reset button
tray opens and insert backup
select start game
select without code
and x
this worked for all games that i was able to play. i was reading other site and it has different method. i tried the other method, similiar but different, for backup that worked and that didn't worked. in both case, it failed to load the game. is what i'm doing correct for my ps2?
what your doing was right for your model ps2... there are other models with different chips that need to be loaded differently...
the way you boot a game should not change for different games... stick with the one technique you have and if any games don't work try finding a patch or something... but i am not sure about patches and how to use them properly...
tried patching, but with no result....either there is no patch or patched on didn't load up. game i'm working on is sky gunner miracle and hot shot golf 3 kalisto. i tried ea patcher and some other patchers from the megagames.com. all failed. i'm stuck. what can i do.... thanks for who replied to my question and those who will reply to my message.
i had another question. first...i don't remember patching ssx tricky which i know for sure is ea game. does this mean i don't have to patch any ea game for my ps2? if no, why? second, i'm not for sure but i remember that all the game that worked for my ps2 fits into 74 mins cdr and that didn't required 80 mins cdr. i can't remember clearly which game required 80 mins cdr but current games that i tried made me conclude this. why is this? does this mean, i'm doing something wrong with burning? can my burner be the cause of the problem?
