I am trying to extract with CDRWin Ridge Racer V CD-R (not original). However, whenever CDRWin reads the CD-R, it says "ERROR: Unable to analyze disc layout. Unable to locate end of MODE2 data track." What's this error REALLY telling me. Because I want to extract the CD-r to a BIN image file so I can patch it. But it's not leeting me do it.

Assuming the CD-R is a good source to rip from, your drive may not be compatible. Check with www.goldenhawk.com for certain.
You could try using ISO Buster to extract the .bin
Other then that, CloneCD. Some people have had success using CloneCD images--you have to force the patcher to look for all files so you can find the ccd image extension in the list.
Good Luck!

use clonecd
change the .img to .bin then patch it
change .bin back to .img and burn with clone cd

Dust2dust, is that reliable? I mean all you do is rename the file?
If so then I'm impressed. Its not everyday I learn a trick worthwhile like that!
