i need to back this game up cause in case it breaks.

my cd writer is : lite on 24*10*40 thats all i can find out

my software: NTI CD-Maker 2000 Professional

Download these two pieces of software and you will have no problems with that writer:
Clone CD (http://www.elby.ch)
Clony XXL (http://clony.insomnia-online.net/)

do i just copy the game as i would any other cd after i download these?

Use the settings that Clony gives you and do not burn on the fly
