starting over and buyin a new ps2

okay.. so i totally fucked up my week old ps2. il be optimistic and call it a learning experience.. see i bought it, a gameshark2, an bought a no solder mod (scared to solder in there) and i installed it successfully i guess, but me and my dad really tore shit up in there at the same time (the metal tape got bent to hell). anyway.. i havent been able to play a burnt game but people are saying its just because the no solder chip doesnt work with the games iv rented an tried to burn. (yes they are cdrom based). well so i wasnt caring too much about the burnt games just a little disapointed.. but now when im playing an original game all of a sudden in the middle of it it shuts off and the reset button blinks red. so thats no good. (if you have any ideas on how to fix that lemme know please)

so since my dad put his 200 bucks into the machine im gonna hafta buy a new one if i cant fix this. cuz we broke the warrenty tape on the back so i guess we cant take it back.

well anyway how should i go about buying a new one? there are many diff. options i know but through all of your experience im sure with a lot of input we can decide something..

id like site links if u have a good site to buy premodded, or some good sites where they install it for you and wont f u over.. please give me a lot of input people........... thankyou all

The site you refer to is offering a NTSC PS2 with the BLUE MESSIAH installed..... There have been quite a few people that have said the BLUE Messiah does not work.........:mad:

don't buy a new one yet. the fan wires are loose form the board and the ps2 is overheating. see if the fan spins when the cd is in the drive and running. when the connector is pulled is sometimes breaks the soldier point.

Charlie_PS2 referred some guys to this website in Chicago. I forget his forum names (I think his name was either Bill or Jim?--you vet's will probably know him). Anyway, I hear he's a great guy, and knows a butt-load about the inner workings of the PS2. If the fan wires aren't the issue, you might want to try getting in touch with him, or try to flag Charlie_PS2 down at the "new" www.PS2Newz.net forum list. (It's a work in progress, and is occasioanlly down for updating--you should add it to your favorites list for future use.)
