I have the same problem as you. My PS2 is a JAP version SCHP 3000. I don't know what kind of mod chip I have, I use AR2 and the 2 reset method to play backup DVD(need a original game to boot) and CD, and use 3 reset method to play backup psx games. If anyone know what mod chip is that, please tell me. Thanks!

I have a lot of backup psx English RPG games. However, almost all of them can't play in my PS2. The other non-rpg games are fine. I have no idea what the problem is. I even do some pal/ntsc patch to some of the game to try if it work or not, but none of them work. However, all the backup psx games work in emu.

i far as i know and i boot withe neokey 2.2

the porblem is that u don't patch the region
there is to kind of patching
1. for pal/ntsc which is display patch only (in order to play pal on ntsc tv and vice verse)

2. the region patch which is more important becuase it is the protection of the machine

i think that becuase u have a jap machine u need to patch it for jap

I think the games I try to play don't have that kind of patch. Here are the list of game I have try so far(They all are English version games)
Star Ocean Second Story
Tales of Destiny 2
Dragon Warrior7
Chrono Cross
FF6
Legends of Mana
Suikoden 2
Resident Evil Directors Cut
Arc The Lad Collection
Saiyuki Journey to West

Some thing I forgot to mention before, the games are loaded for a while, but they just show the black screen forever.

what u need is a general patcher
i can't remmber the name but u can find it in the site
what it does basiclly is change the first few byte of the image so it will work in a diffrent region u can allways patch the image back to the orignal region so u don't have to worry
