Help with making a DVD

I have been downloading Movies from kazza and was wondering if someone could tell me excatly what I need to be able to burn them and watch them on my DVD player?

i've actually found that when i buy an original dvd, it plays when i put it in the dvd player. funny that, huh. i suggest you buy the originals.
