View Full Version : Pioneer 104 Not Recognized By Primo Dvd Software

Hello folks,
originally i had a problem installing primo on my pc ,this was bacause i hadn't activated Windows xp which i have now done. (Thanks Dust)
Primo now installs but on start up it says
NO COMPATABLE RECORDER DRIVES ON THIS COMPUTER.

However if you enter the program by clicking okay and then open
disk explorer and drive properties it says

TYPE DVD ROM

DRIVE PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 FIRMWARE 1.20

CD TEXT READ.

You can copy a gi image to the hard drive but you cannot burn the image back to dvd.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Is it just a bad download of Primo?

Update the PX Engine from www.veritas.com/us/products/recordnow/drivers/ then Primo DVD should recognise you A04.

Thanks for the link Chromedome, the damm thing won,t download at the moment you just get a THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED message so i'll try again tomorrow unless you know if it's available from anywhere else.

I tried the link myself. The download does work but it "thinks" about it for some time so be patient.

M8,

I noticed that your firmware said version '1.20'.

I believe it's up to version number 1.80. Keeping firmware updated has helped me loads with burning problems in the past.

Thanks for all the help guys,
still can't get the page to display i have had this trouble before with certain sites it must be something to do with my internet settings although they seem to me.
Anyway don't worry about it my situation is that i'm waiting for my broadband connection to be established on my other pc when BT finally stop messing around.
I'll be with a different ISP and have a much better set up i just can't do any dvd burning unless i use Nero.
I read somewhere that Nero wasn't as good as Prassi so i'm reluctant to use it.
I also read somewhere that drinking alchol was really damaging to your health so it's forced me to stop READING!!!
Just thought i'd throw that one in for Charlie and Dust.

on nero i know of no problem with it although i do use prassi most time
but i used nero for while when first got a04 :) never had problem
mgs2 ntsc i had problem with prassi it read it np it burned 95%ish then would return unknown error
tried 3 -4 diff media played around a bit still same result(was a backup i was copying written on m8 american a03)
first attempt with nero copied it np
i still aint tried copying it again with prassi
but my point is mail me for the prassi update or use nero u should b ok
