It is protected with Safedisk 1.50.020 but the Unsafedisk 1.5.5 can't unwrap it...

It also installs C_DILLA drivers in the C: directory

I already checked it with your Cleaner and Safedisk Analyser. Both report a Safedisk v1 1.50.020 but Unsafedisk 1.5.5 reports that there's an error trying to unwrap it.

There's an .icd file (3.5MB) which is the main packed executable and the mw4.exe file (366KB) which is the loader...

If you want i can upload both for you to check... (let me know where to send them)

I tried your unwraped CDAC21BA.DLL but there is no SCSHD.EXE file.

The file is SCSHD.CSA and SafeCleaner 1.03 reports that it isn't a PE (Protected Exe ?) file...

Still it doesn't work but i also suspect that my CD has a wrong name! Can anyone tell me the name of the Mechwarrior 4 Inner Sphere Pack CD?

Here is what I have found from using the new 1.0.3
SCSHD.EXE file can be unwrap :)
CDAC21BA.DLL says that "SafeCast DLL's are not supported" :(

At least the new unwrap is better than 1.0.2 which crash when unwrap SCSHD.EXE

What about "Cdac14ba.dll"?

When execute the SCSHD.EXE in the dir. \cdset, installs on the HDD the necesary files, regiter data, and verifies the CD. If this is correct, you could access to the new mechs in the game.

When executed the MW4.EXE(Main program), looks for a file called "96740ede.dat" in the dir. C:\C_DILLA\SafeCast Product Licences\. Also looks for those strings on the windows register:

I noticed after hitman14es's comments I checked my the services running my XP Pro I noticed C-DILLA is running as a service and there are many more entries of C-DILLA in my pc.. DAMN them for doing this.. heck some of the C-DILLA entries can't be deleted with regedit even after stopping the service. This is worse than securom or others... Microsoft is probably playing the game of Big Brother with us hahaha... :mad: :mad: :mad:

Yep I know it has been cracked but it still will not put the new mechs in the game both mech 4 and black knight they are lost somewhere he he or out to tea maybe. And one more thing when you are in the mechlab you have IFF and some other new things to pick for your mech but when you pick IFF it said you must buy MECH PAK INNER SPHERE to use these component I have tried just to install MECH4 and the MECHPAK but still no new mechs in the mechlab. hope this makes sense.

Yes, SCSHD.EXE, is called from the SETUP.EXE. First installs the map files, then open a DOS Window, apear an screen with a mech pack logo, and tells you that CD-ROOM is not good :( ... After you acept that, another screen tells you the game is correctly install :confused:, and the procces installation finished.

The MW4.EXE file in \Razor1911 dir, allows to play the game (With CD#2 inserted), but the new mech still miss.

Another mech component that appears in mechlab, is the "Enhaced optics". This feature will be avaible with the Clan Pack ;). I think the patch v3.0 who comes with the IS pack, adds the 4 mechs for the IS pack, extra weapon, extra electronics... and the same for the next Clan Pack.

The problem here is that the installer is checking the validity of the CD....

So when it discovers that the cd is a copy it doesn't install the license in the C_DILLA/SafeCast Product Licences...

I guess you need a 1:1 copy of the original CD to install the game first and then apply the Razor crack!

haven't really looked at the mechpack addon 'cause i'm not playing this game
lately. Note that there is apparently a multiplayer issue with BK and this
no-cd. This patch was intended as a single-player no-cd crack only.
Apparently there's a CRC check in multiplayer BK to make sure all the
mw4x.exe's in use are the same. It's something this crack does not address.
Just a warning.

The game doesn't require the CD to be in the drive after installation to work properly.

That means that the validity of the CD is checked during installation and if everything is ok it installs the license and writes the required registry entries....

So i guess that if someone can e-mail me the files that are installed in the C_DILLA directory and the registry settings it MAY work with Razor's fixed exe...

GCS, I maybe a bit paranoid but I don't like having worthless "unknown" service running in my pc, the darn mech IS pak given me C-DillaCdaC11ba service running at start up in my XP Pro. Whats worse :mad: :mad: :mad: I can't even delete its entry in registry but only stop it from running at start up. Even if you uninstall the mech is pak the service will STILL be there.

If you use the same serial number, you are not able to play a multiplayer game with other player who has the same number.

bOOls eYe I tried your steps for both burning into cdr and image mount using deamon both didn't help but on the good side I noticed that after I install the mech IS pak it didn't recreate the damn c-dilla dir in c:. Also the game would not auto run straight after install which it always does and ask you for valid cd. So I guess the cd check must be disabled partially or fully.

Now after reading http://pub16.ezboard.com/fslamechwarriorleaguefrm20.showMessage?topicID=139 .topic I wonder if the update to 3.0 which we had installed could have cause the problem this time around since all new patches/updates will install the damn c-dilla.

For those that care to know and/or haven't noticed yet, the MW4(pr3.0) and BK(pr1.0) no-cd cracks found at kaoslegion are, as per MD5 comparison, the EXACT SAME ones found at Gamefix and made by SoftBeard.

I've tested these 2 no-cd cracks by Softbeard and found them to work with and without the IS-MPak installed. The tests were done only on SINGLE PLAYER, I have not had a chance to test on MP, LAN, etc, as yet. The extra features of the IS-MPak are also available and functional, when using the no-cd cracks.

These results are applicable only to the U.S. Retail version of the game, which is the one I've tested with.

I cant recall the issue I had but I did two things.

Uninstalled BK - never play the thing lol

With MW4 installed I restarted the install process with the CD and basically did a repair (re-installed without un-installing)

This refreshed the files and got rid of some of the custom user made add-ons I had HUD patch, no-cd patch from v2...

Then I installed the softbread patch from the link I posted which according to softbread is now at a new location:

BTW BK uses a different version of the macrovision product so its either that or add-ons you have that are causing your problems (my guess)

Off Topic: I have an .exe file from Patrician2 v1.1 that besides Securom has an added protection - after 2 mins of playing it corrupts the screen. It's not a DX or graphic card problem. Are you interested to take a look?

1) What OS are you using?
2) Did you uninstall? If not start there! (see my post on that)
3) Give a COMPLETE step by step discription of what you are doing.

BTW lets try to get the MW4 plus IS and CLAN packs installed and working for multiplayer then go from there to get BK installed.

My gut feeling is that the process is not being followed e.g. correct patches....

If you play on the ZONE you can find me there usally around 9pm PST or later look for KaoS_TANKORR1 I am not hard to find.

FYI I have MW4 + IS & Clan pack working (all store bought versions on a win98 SE machine) those that use burned version might have issues do to some obscure file corruption or other unknown issue I suggest you buy them if needed :) They can be had cheap these days!

I just thought I would post my recent experiences with MW4 Black Knight, and the IS and Clan mech packs. I installed Mw4, then Black knight and both mech packs using the originals, then proceeded to make a copy of the Black Knight Disc using Clone CD. I then try to play using the copy. The game works and both packs are functional. I then repeat the procedure on my second computer. Same results. I then try to play multiplayer with both my machines using a local lan setup. The machines begin to connect but give up while trying to validate vehicles (that is the message anyhow). I suspect that because the same serial number was used for both machines during the mechpack install that the games are refusing to connect to each other. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know if the NOCD patch referenced eariler in this thread addresses this, or does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Just want to clear up a few things:

The Filenexus release of Mechwarrior 4 (2 CDs) works just fine with Th3_Lorax Mech Paks.

Even when it appears that the Mech Paks fail the safecast check during installation (DOS box, schd.exe, insert CD message,...) it still works! This is because you will run the game with the cracked .exe!

There's a post on Filenexus Forum about updating (patching) Mechwarrior 4 to version 2. Just copy this link to your browser:

*Note: You don't need to create a .bat file like the guy did. You can manually copy the file (Follow the steps). You also don't need to download the Patch 2 or the crack since these are included in the Black Knight Expansion release.

(You basically have to copy everything from the 2 CDs to the corresponding directories on your hard drive)

3. Install Black Knight Expansion. This will automatically run patch 2. DON'T COPY THE CRACKS OVER YET!

4. Install Inner Sphere Mech Pak and/or Clan Mech Pak. It will also automatically run patch 3. Now extract those cracked .exe (the ones included in Th3_Lorax releases)

5. Run "MW4_v30_nocd.exe" to play Mechwarrior 4, "MW4x_pr1_nocd.exe" to play Black Knight Expansion.

The best part is that both "mw4.exe" and "mw4x.exe" are intact (not cracked) so you won't have to reinstall everything when a new patch comes out. You also don't need the CDs to play.

A few months ago, there was a post on this forum about how to disable C_DILLA. Just use the search to find it.

There are 2 protections. MW4 and Black Knight have Safedisk protection and the Mech Packs have Safecast protection.

You don't have to disable C_DILLA. Using bOOls eYe instructions and patch you actually install the Safecast protection that is required for the Mech Packs!!! The original Mech Pack CD is checked during installation only so once it is installed you don't need the original CD...

So then you can use the fixed MW4 .exe files with Safedisk removed.
