have been trying to make a backup of espn track & field and ready 2 rumble round 2 but no joy have used easy cd creator 4/upgraded to v5 deluxe clone cd cdrwin and also clonyxl to detect protection method,am using a lg 52x cdrom and phillips cdrw 800 series any help as r2r wont boot and ribbon twirling on taf freezes(sad i know!) any ideas on which program to use or correct pal patches would be appreciated thanks craig ps the games are pal thanks [email protected]

try verbatim cdr's, they are only ones my v5 messiah likes on ps2.

bit more expensive but at least then if still doesnt work you can rule out media probs. Have u read the post by charlie on understanding dvd etc, I know you are on cds here but point of reflectivity is still relevant.

if your cdrw is compatible use CloneCD, you can check this at www.elby.de

use your writer to read and to copy
use clonecd
read option read sub channel data
read sub channel audio
both ticked

write options
dont repair sub channel
close disk
both highlighted

keep write speed slow if it works u can increase speed next time using same options when it doesnt work u know which is your max write speed

ps check your writer at site metioned above u need exact model no. 800 series is no good for it back up all psx games it needs to b raw dao 96 compatible
if it aint it will still copy 90% of games but 10%with added protection(hidden in sub channels)u wont b able to copy without patching them if a patch can b found
