SBOX and AR 2 v2 questions

Ok first, I've ordered an SBOX USB mod and I'm wondering what it can and can't play. If anyone has one please tell me of your successes/failures with it in conjunction with an AR 2 v2 or GS (I imagine the compatibility would be the same).
Secondly, everywhere I look I keep seeing stuff about NTSC users to use a GS and PAL users to use a AR. I have an American PS2 and I ordered an AR 2 v2 for it from www.lik-sang.com. It was clearly marked "For USA consoles" so why do all the tutorials say to use a GS if you have a USA console?

AR2 will not work on a US console. As far as the mod it will not play import originals or dvd-r backups. Some ea titles require patching to load, Not a very good mod IMO.

The reason I'm getting an Sbox is that I have a v1 PS2 and not many mods are compatible with it.
Are you sure about there not being an AR2 version for USA consoles? If you look at www.lik-sang.com they are selling three different versions of the AR2, one for PAL, one for JAP and one for USA models of the PS2. If there is't a USA version I'm going to feel quite ripped off in a few days when my order arrives!

Sorry chrono, i retract my statement about AR2 and the US console, It seems the new vAR2 is compatable with the American console.
