I applied the version 1.03 patch to my Jedi Knight 2 game. Multiplayer seems to work fine, on and offline. but, whenever i click on "Single player Game" i get this error:
JK2: v1.02a win-x86 Mar 4 2002
Initialising zone memory .....
----- FS_Startup -----
ERROR: filename length > MAX_QPATH ( strlen(Program Files/LucasArts/Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast/GameData/base/levelshots/) = 78)
It appears in the window that pops up right before the game starts. With the black background and yellow letters. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

You say you applied patch v1.03 but the error message you posted says v1.02a! This will be the problem.
BTW: What crack did you use and who made the crack? Did you use the cracks for version 1.03 or 1.02?

I know why it says 1.02a, but the problem occured before that. I thought the patch did something to .exe files because it stopped working when i applied the patch. So I took them out of the CD and replaced them. I did create a copy of the 1.03 .exe files, but when i hit the "undo" button in Windows Explorer, it just deleted them and kept the 1.02a executables. I guess i could try to apply the patch again, or reinstall. I think thats what i'm gonna have to do.

ok, i found the problem. But i alreadt reinstalled the game :( . Anyways, I downloading an add-on. I dunno what it was, but it was named "reactor.pk3". Thats the reason I kept getting that message. So i just deleted it. btw, tnx for the help.
u can download 7 zip and go into the .pk3 of the reactor map and there is an empty file structure starting with program files delete that and you can play the map
Come on man. The OP posted back in '02, and it looks he was banned (whether that's right or not). I don't think it's an issue anymore http://fileforums.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
