Empire Earth- Application Error Help

When trying to launch Empire Earth I receive the following error

application error:

the instruction at "0x0023703c" referenced memory at "0x000000000". the memory could not be "read".

I've tried reinstalling the game several times. any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

System info:

Windows 2k professional
P4, 128mb ram

because the memory location doesnt exist ? 0x00000000 would be correct, i believe, as opposed to 0x000000000. duno. where did u get the game?

i bought it at compusa. the funny thing is that i received this error on why desktop pc. when i installed it on my notebook pc it works fine.
