Hi guys,

I just bought a game hunter from Lik-sang and I can't get it to work. The instructions that came with it are woeful. I think I'm doing something worng. Hopefully one of you can help me with the correct procedure.

I've plugged the GH into the parralel port.
I've installed the spring.
When I boot the menu comes up with the following options;

1.Start game @ mod mode
2. Start game with cheats
3. select cheats.
6.Memory card manager
5.Graphic viewer
7.CD-rom ( browses for movie/audio files )

I've tried;
1.Booting with an original, reoving the original at the GH menu, replacing it with a backup, selecting option 1. I just get a screen saying "start" nothing else happens.

2.Booting with an original, pressing option1, opening the CD cover, removing the disc, replacing it with a backup. nothing happens, the disc is searching for tracks on the original.

What am I doing wrong?

What you can try is look for corrupt codes, certain codes input wrong can kill a gameshark device, I received a Saturn gameshark fresh from the factory and inside the it contained two sets of codes for and NFL game, one set matched a website of codes, the other was all messed up, once I removed that code grouping it worked fine.

I also had a Mini-Goldfinger, I just emptied it of all codes and input the ones I wanted and never had any trouble with it.

Then again, they could have created a bad batch and you'll need to exchange it.

A local video game store recieved a bunch of Mini-Goldfingers they were going to send back because they said they didn't work, I asked if I could look at them and I found the only problem with them was they were set to PAL instead of NTSC, all I had to do was switch them and they found out that there was nothing wrong and could sell them after all.

Thanks for that.

I also read somewhere ( megagames.com I thnik ) that the boot disc has to be the same format as they game you are trying to boot. I have only tried NTSC games with a PAL Bootdisc. Maybe that's a problem?

Yes Im sure that is your problem.I have a Japanese psx with a goldfinger and have to boot it with Japanese game-Tekken works good-my U.S. psx with a goldfinger I boot with Alien Trilogy.If you have a PAL psx you need to boot with a PAL game,a game with over 20> audio traks will work the best.

That did the trick, tried several PAL backups with a PAL demo boot disc, works like a treat!

Thanks
