Hi,

I have a modchip for my PS2. When I copy a ps2 game using Nero, I have no problems. However, if I want to rip the game onto my hard drive with CDRWin, and then burn the .bin file onto a CDR....the game will not load. I've tried every FAQ site known to man, and I still haven't had any luck. My objective here is to put an EA patch on that .bin file because I don't think I can patch games using Nero nor can I download backup files from the internet and burn them using Nero. Anyway, a long time ago, I remember talking to someone who told me to edit the .cue file. I forget what this person told me to do, but I did make changes to the .cue file and it did work for me so I'm positive I don't have any CD-writer issues. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

-Scott

P.S. - I am using CDRWin 3.8e

I have successfully fatched an EA coded game (Rally Championship) I realise that this is no an EA game, but it contained the EA copy protection code.

Anyhow, in regards to patching this bin file that I extracted using cdrwin. I patched the bin file. I then loaded nero (because cdrwin does not support burning of my asus crw-1610a) and burned the image using the following settings:

Under the ISO tab... Mode 2/XA
Burn ISO 9660 Character set
Burn in DA0 96
Finalise CD

Hope this helps - the game works fine for me.

Charlie's Answer: Did you try www.psxcopyworld.co.uk?

Charlie's Answer: You are right not to edit the CUE file.

I forget what this person told me to do, but I did make changes to the .cue file and it did work for me so I'm positive I don't have any CD-writer issues.
Charlie's Answer: Of course we are not positive that you don't have any CD-writer issues. What reader/burner do you have? At what speed do you burn the disk
Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Thank you all for your responses. I will try some of the methods you have suggested and see what happens. And yes, I did get a crack for CDRWin. Maybe I'll try to get rid of it. I'll be in touch after I give it a couple shots. Thanks again for your time!

Oh hell yeah! This is what I did. First off, thanks Charlie for sharing that website with me. It's freakin' awesome! Anyway, I uninstalled CDRWin (because I cracked it), and then downloaded CDRWin v4. It installed fresh and needs a crack. So then I ripped the .cue/.bin files with that program and I burned it with Fireburner. WORKS LIKE A FREAKIN' CHARM!!!!! Thank you all for your responses. I can finally put this modchip to use!!!!

Forever in debt to all of you,

-Scott
