View Full Version : Copying Protected Audio Cds
Basically, from what I have seen a mate of mine doing, all u need is an external USB cdwriter and to make sure no cd writer is actually physically 'inside the PC' (does that even make sense?).
Im sure some of u peeps know that these new Audio Cds DO play in PC's, just not PC's with internal cd writers.
Again my mate, who has been using a laptop, with no internal cd writer, a USB burner and everyones favourite software, Easy CD; is making and has made proper backups of some albums (Destiny's Child Remixes, Nickleback and Whailin Dion).
The only piss take is that these copies do not play in PC's with internal cd burners either. So im asking some peeps who have access to pcs with no 'built in' writers AND USB writers to experiment with this method so we can overcome another copy protection without resorting to defacing our original cds with marker pens.
Of course if u don't like or trust the above method u can always go out and buy a plextor cd burner which, according to cd freaks, can make copies of these Copy Protected Albums.

Easy CD Cremator - every1's fav software?? Were u being sarcastic?
Also, if this is Key2Audio, your friend's could use Clone CD (Only Read First Session) and the copies would work in any drive as only the important first session was copied.
Ive already told him to look into getting CloneCD, but according to the elby site his burner aint supported fully.
How much support does Clone require in order to copy Audio Cds anyway and to do what ghosth@cker said about only the first session being copied? Same requirements as PC Game Copies like sub channel this, that and the other....................?
Just remember, I only made a suggestion on how to copy these Audio Cds because I had not read about my mates method anywhere. Admittedly not too practical (who has a PC without a burner these days AND a USB burner?), but hey, it gets the job done.

I don't believe that too much is required of the burner to just copy first session - i don't think subs are required, I'll have a look later
strangge that it works in usb drive but not internal...

Cheers!I´ve bu´ped a couple of protected music cd´s for my caraudio.I used ISO-buster 1.0 to rip the .wav´s to my hd.I´ve also tried Ccd 4.xxx (read first session only and then rip the .wavs---->.mp3´s)Eac(insert disc-then start eac)Nero(data cd copy)and tried some others.Works for me with both key2audio and cactus data shield 200 and I´ve got a burner as reader thats capable of reading subchannel data from audio tracks aswell as from data tracks.Hope this could make any sense to you in need and help you.............:)

I wasnt complaining about the cd protection being copied, heck I wasnt even asking for any help really, I was just merely 'reporting' that my mate had managed to copy these Audio Cds without resorting to defacing the 'shiny side'.
