Im using a backup of GTA3 with myth´s fixed .exe and I copied all of the audio files to the audio dir but I have to take out one of the two files that are already there sfx.sdt or sfx.raw to prevent the game from asking for the cd. Anyway, Im also getting a no audio harware message in my audio options. Does this message have to do with the .exe or the audio files? I hear the music from the intro but once the game´s interface loads theres no sound at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem. my audio hardware is:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy platinum

i have already tryed updating the drivers and direct X (which is always the most common cause of problems).
i did this on 25/06/2003 from the respective websites and the problem persists.

The sound for the intro music plays fine (all my other games and applications function ok) however as soon as the game starts there is no sound. on the options menu the audio is shaded out and the message "No audio hardware" appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.

just to confirm after some confusion the problem occures in GTA3 Vice City

Sounds like you'll have to make an image of the original CD and mount it on the hard drive.
