allright here's what you have to do
step 1
you put in the ar2 cd and then turn off your got it ?
step 2
now turn on your ps2 and hold the power button
step 3
when the ar2 screen comes up and the disc stops spinning press the ject button remember DONT GET YOUR FINGER OFF THE POWER BUTTON!!now switch it with a orignal DVD game like Devil may cry ( demo ) or any other game with high toc value GTA3 can do the job too
Now let it load for a minute
step 4
now select start game without codes now get your finger off the power button and the tray will open now quick switch it with the DVD backup and just before it closes hit start
step 5
PLAY THE GAME!!!

Sure - Origa is a single swap solution that does everything. Costs around £30 plus £60 ish to install. It has 15 wires. If you haven't soldered before at the sub-millimetre level, don't try now.
Messiah is a no swap solution that does everything. Costs around £65 plus £70 to install.
Both chips work on all PAL models.
Let me know if you want me to supply a Messiah or fit a Messiah or Origa. Origa may be seen on www.origachip.com.
USB mods do not boot dvd-r, listen to charlie and get yourself a origa or a messiah

... and listen to Warlock. Until he went away in October to deal with a few televised issues, Warlock was the man on the forum. He still is the man - and he loves it when I talk technical!
