Hi there,
After browsing the forum, I have realised that CD-R backups of DVD games can wear the mechanics of the laser alot quicker than normal and you have to miss half of the game out and it takes ages to rip - Not Good! So, after much pondering, I wondered if it was possible to get a blank DVD-R disc and burn a game onto it using a CD Re-writer? Is this possible? Does it wear your CD-RW? Does it even WORK? Has anyone even tried it? It is just an idea so any help on the above subject would be great! Thanks for all your help in advance...

My PC:
Plextor W12/10/32A CD Re-writer,
LG DRD-8160B DVD-ROM drive,
AMD Athlon 1Ghz Processor,
512MB Ram,
NVidia Ge-Force2 MX Pro 64MB Graphics Card,

My PS2:
V4,
PAL,
Chipped with Messiah
10 Of The Best Games Out for the PS2.

Thanks again...

No, you can't. CD-RW drives won't even recognize a DVD-R disc. I actually have the same RW drive as you do, it gives a device I/O error.

I do have a DVD-ROM drive and a CD-RW. What I want to do is read a game to my HDD and then burn it onto a blank DVD-R disc with my CD-Rewriter. I just wondered if this worked. Any answers to this revised and more clear question. Sorry if the answer is the same. Any help would be appreciated... LUFCfan :)

Docnight and xboxps3gba, already answered the question. NO, you cannot burn a DVD-R disc in a CD-RW drive. Think about it for a second. =) You have 2 options: 1. Get yourself a DVD-R drive, and 2. Rip your DVD game to fit onto CD-R (ripping does not take ages, and in somecases you do not loose that much of the game) I'd recomend the 1st option, but plz...give up the idea of burning 'DVD' in a 'CD' burner =)
