i just bumped that post regarding the limitations of the no-solder mods.

The no-solder mods were originally designed for cdr silvers, however from experience they only seem to like 74min cdrs and not 80.
Some people have got them to work, don't know how but check out www.lik-sang.com.
They have a good comparison chart for mods.
