... and NEO4 is a crap chip when compared with the Messiah. The Messiah does everything and boots your backups (which then won't need patching) without any swap mechanism being necessary.

I have both Neo4 and Messiah and too say that the Neo4 is crap in comparison is crap in iteself :)
Although I do prefer the Messiah it's a very simple swap to play DVD-R games on the Neo4 and it becomes second nature. The Neo4 does however have region free DVD-Video playback and Macrovision off which the Messiah doesn't, so if you don't have a stand alone DVD player, don't want to watch DVD-Video on your PC, want to watch import movies or copy them to VCR then the Neo4 is actually a better option
I agree with charlie,Neo4 sux. Tek you forgot to mention that you have to patch ea games and it wont play import originals. Most people mod there console to play games and most games are dvd format meaning i am going to have to swap (most of the time) To play my PS2 backups. I have installed a few neo4 for friends along with alot of Origa's as well as neo 2.2's. IMO i would prefer to have a Origa compared to the Neo4, Less wires, easier to install, it dont destroy my laser and as far as games go it will do everything that the neo4 will do only better with the exception of the no swap cdr bachups and dvd playback extras. Again, this is strictly my opinion but to me a SMART person would stay away from Neo chips period. Origa, Nova, Messiah or nothing.

Good point - forgot to mention the imports (although I don't know how many people that applies too). Don't get me wrong, I don't think you can beat a Messiah and wouldn't do without mine (which is why I have 2 of them and only 1 Neo4 ;)) but I don't think it's fair to tell a noob that it's crap and not tell them the pros and cons of both chips when they might need the DVD-Video scenario.
Never had any experience with an Origa as I heard they run hot - have heard of people doing a side by side Neo4 and Origa back when the Messiah was hard to get hold of... now that must be an install from hell!
