I live in Australia, Brisbane and i have been trying, unsucessfully, for the last few months to get my playstation 2 rechipped. I need the chip cause i have a jap ps2 and i live in australia. which means i can't play australian games. I have been told that the origa 1.25 chip is the best for my ps2, i have a scph 15000, and that i need DVD Region X jap version. If anyone could help me. I am willing to order from overseas, or even post my ps2 to a RELIABLE source. Thanks in advance
Best adress to order is of course Lik sang.com.
I recently chipped my own ps model 10000 with a Nova chip
it's a clone from the origa chip and has less wires to solder
I know that the Origa 1.25 can't be delivered right now,
but the Nova chip can.
Myself I use a Ar 2 japanese version also on order through liksang
Origa/nova and the messiah are the only modchips that
can play dvd-r!! without the toc-method(neo 4)
Use of the ar2 is quite easy just boot the disk
press without codes and put in the backup.
Original games(pal/ntsc) boot directly.
Haven't played ps1 backups so I don't know if these
work with the nova, charlie told me that they doh't
work with the origa.

since the origa will boot original imports without swap, you won't need a japanese region X.. the PAL one will do fine.
right u are!!
originals don't need a boot at all only back ups

JAP DVD Region X will only be needed if you actually want to play a US DVD (NTSC). PAL DVD movies won't play on an NTSC PS2.

Thanks for the info.
So the only thing i won't be able to do if i get a PAL DVDX rather than a JAP version is play US movies?? And the origa 'clone' chip, is it as good as the origa?? Any flaws. Any reason i should wait till i can get an origa chip?? Thanks in advance

Your interpretation is correct. Get the proper Origa. Who will support you (aprt from the Forum) on the Nova chip?
