Guys,

Has anyone been able to backup this title? I tried a dvd-r today and it boots ok, gets to the memory card check, then hangs.. I have seen an ea-patcher?, not sure if this is needed.

I have a messiah chip.

an update...

above was due to the datasafe media. Weird as it works with all other psx2 games so far. Now real weird is:

Burn backup with FWS brand boots fine, play the game, graphics are fine, commentary etc, only difference is you just get shadows passing the ball. There are no players. Put orig in and picked same options and plenty of players in that version...

I tried it with a -rw and it is exactly the same. There must be some protection on this title?

Anyone got any ideas?

There is no protection on this title when backing up DVD based games - they have NO protection. Other people have used the datasafe media with great effects - no problems so it can't be that. Try a different burning program or cleaning your DVD-R laser. I recommend you use Prassi primo DVD and use the tutorial on www.psxcopyworld.co.uk that was written by Charlie_ps2. Try this on your Datasafe or FWS and you will have a perfect 100% working backup!
