I was just wondering if virtua fighter 4 has any copy protection or can it just be cloned with clone cd??

as it is out in the uk

What the? I swear Sony loves to waste space using DVD discs for something that could put in the CD..Like the US Version..
Crazy!! Just like Batman Vengence whole file is about 690 megs but they use a DVD Disc!! Why?! That's over 3,690 gigs of space wasted for a practical CD game almost..Dumb! Dumb!!

ok i cant copy it due to my DVD Drive is up the creek without a paddle + its not compatable with clonecd :mad: :mad: :mad:

I think what he meant was since VF4 for the US version is in CD format he used Clone CD..Try using Primo DVD or Nero if you have one...I guess you have to copy it 1:1 meaning DVD rom to DVD-R unless there is a Rip copy..Given that you do have DVD Burner..

i tried to back up virtua fighter 4 (ntsc) from dvd to cd and it didn't work... is it possible to do this or should i really need to copy less than 500mb on a dvdr???

If you got the NTSC Version of VF4 it's CD format..
Just copy it from Cd to CDR..That's it..It's not that difficult..
Use Clone CD for Copy to Copy making the image first from the copy..If you're burning from the original to CDR use GoldenHawk CDRwin or Clone CD works too...
This game is NOT in DVD Format..Unless you're trying to copy a CD format into a DVDR it won't work..Maybe it might but why?
The game is under 478megs so you're trying to waste a 4.7 gig media for it? Like I said copy it to the CDR it's not a DVDR game..
You said you got a Yamaha CDR drive and Pioneer DVDR drive..
Use the Yamaha Burner to copy the VF4..

I've got the PAL version of the game, which is the same as yours, and it's on a DVD-Rom... even if you could copy it with CloneCD, which you cannot, it still has the DVD Checks on it... so it wouldn't work anyway..

ONLY option, is wait until someone develops a DVD check remove kit.. I'm waiting for the same thing. Amazes me why the US version is on CD and the PAL version is on a DVD... vexes me that!

I wish peope would be more clear about this..vlozity is saying he got a NTSC version which he's trying to copy it to DVD-R which confused me for a while..Be more clear and distinguish the difference between CDR and DVDR..
But from looks of it, is a PAL version and I heard it is on DVD rom..Don't know why..Anyhow use Prassi or Nero to burn the DVD version of VF4..It should work..Clone CD is made for CDR's and same for CDRwin..

the Pal version is on DVD.The only difference between the pal and usa versions is that the Pal version has a 50/60hz selector and is multilang.There is a dvd rip of the pal version.Nothing was removed and its 514 megs so the only reason i can see why sega would put it on a dvd when it could easily be put on a cd is to stop the casual pirate backing it up.Most people have cd burners but very few have dvd burners.

sorry for my very late reply... ok, first i do have an NTSC copy of Virtua Fighter 4 on DVD. I tried using nero, but i think i may have made a boo boo coz i copied to hard drive first instead of using on-the-fly recording. peace!

AO3, you make a good point about Sony wasting space. A lot of times they do. But I have noticed why some PAL games are dvd and NTSC games are cd. It is because when Sony makes a PAL game they sometimes include other languages for people in other countries. That makes the PAL disc bigger than the regular NTSC version.

Im not sure that is the case for this particular game, but it is on other games.

Then you are out of luck..... You will either have to get a DVD burner or you will have to try and RIP it.....
