i was wondering how hard it would be to install the messiah. i dont really think there is anyone around where i live to install it so i am thinking of getting one and installing it myself. is it really that hard? are the instructions clear? im 14 and have no experience with this type of stuff but i think i might be able to do it. please reply, i need to know because i dont want to screw up my ps2. also are there any external or no solder modchips for a V1 ps2 that can play dvd backups?
Well first off unless you got a PAL machine which is compatible with Ver.1-5 with the Current Messiah don't bother..
What I mean is if your machine is NTSC for now it's only Ver.4 compatible..SCPH 30001 DC 1A or 1B or SCPH 35001 All..
Till at least Messiah LE comes out..Near end of may..
Next have you actually soldered anything associated with PSX?
If not PSX 2 will be very difficult for you..Messiah is not a Joke for Amatuers..Neo4 is definitly not for Light hearted people..
However there is No solder mod chip but you know the term
"You get what you pay for!! It's not a Bad Chip but I hear lots of complaints..So Messiah is way to go if you can handle it..
Or there is Neo 2.5 but requires swapping with Gameshark..
Like I said make sure your machine is compatible..

Personally - if you have no soldering experience dont even risk your damaging your ps2 by trying. Get your chip installed by someone who knows how to.
Where abouts are you located - UK / US ?
