Tried to download aspi get this message
ASPI IS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED
ONE OR MORE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH OLDER VERSIONS OF THE SOFTWARE.
how do i fix this.Istill want the aspi in but failing that id like the files restored to the way they were.as this is my first post on here not sure about links yet...........the one i downloaded was from clone ccd website(bottom)

you can get your driver here golden hawk (http://www.goldenhawk.com/ide.htm)installing these drivers will install/update the following files on
your system:
WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ASPIENUM.VXD
WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WINASPI.DLL
WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WNASPI32.DLL
WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\APIX.VXD

After going to the above link I discovered 2 things:
The links to the Win2K were down.
I noticed that the files updated systems with Intel? processors. I have an AMD 1800+ will the ASPI update work for me? I don't think I even have ASPI installed currently...Newb questions I know...:D
Ok thanks for the links...Now could you explain what ASPI does. I have already read the acronym for it.
