View Full Version : unrecoverable hardware errors

I've successfully burned numerous backups. And recently I've had trouble with various titles. I get about 60% to 80% and receive an unrecoverable hardware error message. And it depicts pretty much the same sector #'s.
I've burned other games successfully in between and wonder if these games need to be patched or if the software I'm using doesn't support the media of the original disk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! CDRWin & CloneCD have been my primary software.

what type of burner do u have and what game are u trying to backup

My problem seems to be reading the material. I find that copying to the hard drive before burning is much more efficient. So my error message of unrecoverable hardware comes during that stage.
To answer your question. I have the Compaq DVD rom 612B as a reader. And use the Philips 4801 CDR/CDRW C2/1 burner. CDRWin or Clone CD trials. And the game currently is (forgive me, but it's for my son) SpongeBob Squarepants.
