Do I have to have different boot cds for different games. For ex.,
Quake what boot cd do I have to have for it??

You only need 1 boot CD : utopia boot CD is the only one.
But you can make your own selfbootable game from your non selfboot CDs. Just follow any selfboot tutorial.

No, you only need the last version (Utopia boot disc 1.2, I think), but you don't even need any boot disc if you make your games selfboot !

where to get 1.2? i have 1.1. my dc can't seem to play some backed up games. maybe 1.2 will help.

I don't recall 1.2 improving on the selection of various games it works with. It was supposedly some minor cosmetic (or other minor) defects that it fixed, over 1.1... Nothing more.
