View Full Version : Backups???
I am a newbie so sorry if this seems promative. I am trying to backup my copy of the sims as it is quite scratched (BUT playable) Was wondering how to do it. I have Clone CD (I think it is 3) and try to copy. But it takes AGES and in the Log keeps sayin - Failed to read sector 811 etc. It worked perfect with other games - Can someone tell me the problem and how to overcome it!!!or just speed it up. If I leave it for hours will it backup!!!
Thanks

Thanks for the link - I have sucessfully built an image of The Sims. My burner does not write it though, which is a shame - I am gonna buy another burner. Which burner is considered the best???

I'm a loyal Plextor fan but I'm gonna recommend a Lite-on (24X, 32X or 40X). These will all do Safedisk 1 and 2 (including 2.51) no problems. It will also copy most other protections except Tages and Starforce (which cannot be cloned yet)

lite on's .......
plex's have great customer service, great warranties, and are overall great drives. but for cost, and backups, lite on's will make ur life easier

To ghost....i remember you that plex will do a starforce copy with clone( codename outbreak)( and liteon reported succed too) so i will recomend a liteon yet because seems that sfv2.51 were designed to knock down plextors ( most pirates uses it or at least this were shown in a stadistic campaign)
