I have no idea what I'm doing. I managed to get the program to run. These were the directions that I'm supposed to follow:

--Use unSafeDisc v1.5.5 to unwrap the SafeDisc protected SIMS.EXE executable.

--Rename the created TESTME.EXE executable to SIMS.ICD and copy it to the game directory, overwriting the original SIMS.ICD file.

I managed to follow the first step(believe me, I was shocked too) but when I tried to copy the renamed testme.exe to the game directory it wouldn't replace the original sims.icd file. I'm sure that what I'm missing is something extremely simple. Can someone please help me?

These are the directions I got from Gamefix in their entirety:

Create the following temporary directory:
TempDir : C:\TEMP\EXE
--Install the game - Full Installation.
--Install the Livin' Large Expansion Kit.
--Copy the following files to TempDir:
-SIMS.EXE [360,521 bytes - 25/07/00]
-SIMS.ICD [2,326,573 bytes - 25/07/00]
-DPLAYERX.DLL [138,752 bytes - 26/07/00]
--Use unSafeDisc v1.5.5 to unwrap the SafeDisc protected SIMS.EXE executable.
--Rename the created TESTME.EXE executable to SIMS.ICD and copy it to the game directory, overwriting the original SIMS.ICD file.
--Replace the original SIMS.EXE executable with the one from Patch Archive (only 12 KB in size!).
