thanks for the help!! arakon i wish to thank you , you got me heading in the right direction. what i meant was is there any writeing software that lets me copy dvds to cds, and would the play? one more stupid question, if i put in mod chip , can i play backups without swaping?? also do i need a patch , and what is it! the first 2 3 in serial 3 is u1 its a ps2 thanks again ,id be lost without your help!!!

And, no, you cant just copy a DVD game directly to a CD-R but you can use the ripping guide from the link I gave you in your previous post.

With some mod chips there is swapping required and the use of a game shark / action replay or a dvd region x disc. But the swap is very very easy. Actually, I believe the only mod chip that does not require swapping is the messiah (but I'm not 100% sure on that, there might be some other mods that are non-swap).
