Does anyone know if dvd+r is compatible with the playstation 2 if you have a modchip. I know dvd+rw arn't. And does anyone know how big most dvd games are? Would they fit on one 4.7 gig dvd? Thanks For your help.

Right! DVD-R's only!! Although I heard some people got DVD-RW to work on the PSX2 but why? It's too expensive!
DVD-R and DVD+R are 2 different disc format..Physically looks same but different..
OK, so I'm assuming that only DVD-R/RW may work with the ps2. It's also common knowledge that you need a modchip to play backup dvd games. Does this also apply for home made dvd movies? - i.e. do you need a modchip to play your home made dvd movies?

do a search in the ps2 forum, you will find all your answers there.

DVDr movies play just fine on PS2
BUT
there are very few movies that fit on the
4.3 gig available on DVDrs
If you strip out extras to fit a movie on DVDr the
PS2 is very picky about having the authoring done
correctly.......its difficult to get right!
Thanks for your straightfoward answer!
