I keep reading about these groups, but I have no idea how to get to them directly. Are they newsgroups? If so, I still cannot seem to locate them. Anyone out there with news on this? For example...

try going to efnet on mirc and join room #fairlight

and #deviance

to save you time, i'll tell you you won't be able to get into any official fairlight room without an invitation. How do you get one? you tell me!
i believe you can get into the deviance room though...

As far as i know they are pirating software for fun and distribute it over their own private server network. Read the .nfo´s that come with the groups cracks sometimes. They usually tell you how you are able to join. Seems to be easy. You just have to be a C/C++ programmer that can remove Safedisc, SecuROM etc. or be able to provide unreleased games or a linux server for free. No problem, is it?

btw: anybody in this forum belong to one?

note pad should do it bro. try word pad - or even microsoft word. but to my knowledge the .nfo file are just text files with a different extention.

I use notepad all the time. It works just fine. But you can also use programs like nfodiz. Try www.isonews.com.

the bigger groups look for people w/shell accounts or other access to large amounts of server space. they have all the programmers they need.
