This is what I have:
ps2 NTSC v.5
No solder mod from gamegizmo.com
Game Shark 2
pioneer dvd-r a04 (unsure of firmware ver, brand new)
verbatim white label dvd-r's
Nero 5+
Ok.
1st off, when i backup a game w. nero, it doesnt appear to write the image to the hdd. i know that it does, obviously, but it does the entire process in one swoop. ie- it will read the original, then ask for a blank disc, then copy over. afterwards, it appears that the data has been successfully backed up.
so. will this method work? or does the image NEED to be copied to the hdd, then back to a blank disc? I used a tutorial on this site: http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/NeroDVD_tutorial.htm
Also, the option to copy to the hdd is not there. do i need to 'upgrade' to the full version of Nero to do this?
Is Prassi's product better for my setup? and if so, where is it available for download? didnt appear to be available from their site.
Second Question:
Assuming that the above process will provide an accurate back up of my games, I still cant get the NO SOLDER MOD to boot the backup.
I am using this method for booting:
http://www.gamegizmo.com/rmoduse.html
anyone see any inheirant flaws in booting w, this/their procedure? I am using GTA3 for the original boot required in the instructions.
Does this process in theory work? does it require impecable timing on my behalf and that is why it will not boot? I have seen where it says you have to press X as soon as the tray goes in, or as soon as the light changes from amber to green....
I have also seen several other similar methods for booting, some requiring the power button to be held in, etc...So is there a definitive booting process that perhaps their instructions are leaving out???
When i press X to start, the screen freezes after the swap and will not go.
sorry for all the questions, but i have read up on this for some time, and am trying, with no avail.
your help is appreciated.
