Gamecopyworld files download as .ACE?

My 2 children have destroyed many of my games do to me leaving them out, so i am trying to learn how to back my games up. The main question i have is when i try to download no Cd executable files from game copy world they always downlowd as .ACE files instead of .EXE files, why is this and is there a way to change the .ACE files to .EXE files.

Any help is very much apriciated...

I have nevr heard of a sticky until tonight... I do apriciate the reply but why don't you guys give us newbies a break? also make sure you get the latest version of winace or winrar
