How come I can copy the first disk, but not the second?

Because it sounds like the second disk is copy protected. Get Clony XXL (http://insomnia.covers.de/) to see what protection is being used. It will also give yout the correct settings to use in Clone CD (http://www.elby.org). (Hardware dependent)
