neo 4 chip and ea backup

i have just had neo4 chip fitted to my ps2 and cant backup my game x-squad ithink it may need patching if so could someone please point me in the right direction of how to patch ps2 EA games instructions for dummies thanks in advance ps my ps2 is 3003 v4:confused:
