World's FIRST public PS2 emulator... for your PC!
Over the past few days on various emulation sites there have been rumors circulating of a PS2 emulator which runs on your PC. Up until this past weekend, these have only been rumors. There is now an emulator known as PCSX2 which runs on your PC and only emulates a few of the "homebrew" PS2 demos (NO GAMES YET!) such as Duke of NAPALM's 3Stars PS2 Demo!

This first PS2 emulator was coded by Linuzappz and Shadow (their PSX page is located HERE). To run, the emulator requires THIS plug-in and also THIS plug-in so leech them while ya can ;)

Without further hesitation, feel free to download the PS2 emulator known as PCSX2 v0.026. We here at PS2Ownz.com hope this is only the FIRST of many upcoming PS2 emulators we all can look foreward to in the coming months! ~_^

The emulator can be downloaded by following the links from the ps2ownx site.

What do others think? A step forward ???

a ps2 emu that plays a handful of very simple demos is possible.
playing actual games is an entirely differen matter, and will not happen for a long, long time.
not to mention that you'll need one hell of a pc for it too.

PC spec needed to play PS2 games on emulator would be

An 800 Mhz processor
256MB PC133 Memory
Geforce 2 64 MB Graphics
DVD-ROM

Why would anyone want to play PS2 games on a PC anyway?

You have to piss about finding the thing and mess about with configuring a controller to work on the system.

bull.
you need at least thrice the cpu power of the system to emulate, and 3D takes additional power. not to mention that the ps2 uses several custom chips with almost no info on them available.
it'll take alot more than 800 mhz to emulate.

example: sega saturn.
not even the athlon XP 2000+ is able to emulate saturn at a decent speed. it uses 2 32bit SH-2 CPUs at 28 mhz, and several additional 32 bit custom chips with near no info known.

ps2 emulation of commercial games is not gonna happen for a long, long time.
