I bought a gameshark off of a friend of mine and it doesn't work in my PS2. The PSX CD works fine, but the PS2 CD doesn't boot. It's not a backup and it worked on his system. He used the NEO USB mod chip and I'm using the solderless. I have a version 4 PS2 and the GS2 is version 1.6. Does anyone have a possible explanation as to why it doesn't work???

Thanks in advance.

are you sure you have a version 4? sony added a protection so any gamesharks below 2.01 will not work on V5's anymore, sounds like that's your prob.

Why would the psx disc work?

cause that is, as you said, a psx disc.. not a ps2 one.

If you are using a no solder mod(solderless) then you have a v5, The no solder chip will not work on a v4, therefore you must have a GS2 v1.93 or better
