I have a PS2 modded with the No Solder modchip. Up until last week I have had no problems booting backups of PS2 games. However a couple days ago I got a game from my friend's FTP. The game is Wipeout Fusion. He is in Korea. Now I know the game has to be a DVD rip because its 2 cds. But when I used it inconjunction with the GS2 it would just sit there at the loading screen of the GS2 and would not boot. I know I didn't make a mistake burning it. Ive been burning shit forever. I have read somewhere that the No Solder modchip wont boot DVD rips? Is this true? Somewhere else I have heard that it wont boot games over 640mb? Is this true? Or is my problem that the game i got from him is an import? Can someone help me out? Im about to rip the remainder of my hair out. Any help at all would be appreciated.

You heard right, will not boot dvd rips over 640mb.

So what is my best option right now? Get a new modchip? The majority of the games I will be getting will be DVD rips. Can anyone suggest a modchip?

If you got a pal v5 go with a messiah, If got a US v5 your best bet at this time is a neo 2.5 dvd chip.
if you eally want to keep playing rips over 650 mb then install a neo 2.2 alongside the no solder and your probs are solved
