mod chip??

ive noticed a new mod chip advertised that says i can play backups by attaching it to the usb port on my ps2, anyone know if i can play backups without opening the machine up and losing my warranty

as far as i know there are no modchips on the market where you don`t have to open your ps2. even the usb moschip needs 1 wire to solder.
