Ps2 Not working!

Can anybody please help me?
I got home from work 2nite wanting to play my newly bought ps2 copied games.
None of these would work not even any of the ones which I already had tried.
I cannot even get my originals to work.
I've tried dvd rom and cd rom originals and even dvd movies to no avail.
I can here my laser clicking and I can see the white disk spinning.
I can't however here the usual high pitch whizzing sound when the disks try to load.
I can't take the unit back as I have invalidated my warranty fitting the no solder mod chip, which worked fine until now.
Please help,do you know any ps2 repairers around the nottingham area in Uk?

sounds like the laser unit is not working. possibly a ribbon cable got loose, but from the sounds of it, I'd say the lense was fried.. you'd need a new laser unit then.

i don`t know any guys who can repaier ps2 but i thnk your laser has te be recalibrated. the clicking sound meens that the laser cannot read it.

of not sony do an exchange for £75

1 The R-Mod has worked up to now
2 You can't play anything

May I suggest you try two things if you haven't done so already:

A Check that the R-Mod cables haven't popped out and/o the topside jumpers haven't come off.

B Take the R-mod out and reinstate to original condition.

If it doesn't work in original condition, then find your warranty sticker and put it back on, take the PS2 back.

If it works, get a Messiah/Clone. Save up for it if you have to - but that is the v5 chip to have.
