Cog method

I have tried using the cog method and it doesn't work! has any one got it to work? And if you have can you tell me the steps so i can see what i have done wrong???

it's the only method i use, but keep in mind i only have 3 burnt games i can get working right

i took the face off the drive first of all, then you put gameshark in the drive, load up, pick the game if you want and with or without codes, what you pick there doesn't matter, unless you want the cheats in a certain game, when it says to switch discs and press X, stick a small screwdriver in the hole where the cog is, turn it left, pull the drive, put in game, push the drive closed, turn the cog back to the right all the way, press X, away you go
