No solder mod & DVD-R

Has anyone with this mod actually been able to play backuped up DVD games???

So far using AR2.0 all psx and ps2 cdr cds (even 80min discs) have all launched succesfully however I've been unable to launch any DVD-R disc. I've so far tried 3 different titles and nothing.

Just wondering if anyone has been succesfull and what method they've used to launch the game...

i have no expierience with this chip
but from previous posts i seen that it boots dvdr ok
most likely your laser cant read brand dvdr u r using
what brand r they? pioneer can b read by any sh*tty laser
apple r next best
or maybe copies r bad copies do they boot on anything else
search forum for no solder

Try This
Step 1
Boot up PS2 with the GS2 or AR2 v2.0 CD.

Step 2
At main menu, press eject and swap GS2 CD with a PS2 Original DVD Game.

Step 3
Press Eject to close (Wait for 20 seconds).

Step 4
Select any Game code list, and turn on or off any code on the list, then press start to go to the with/without codes menu

Step 5
Select with codes, then Press X. It will say “Update Code List” and the dvd stops spinning.

Eject the dvd using the rmod method and replace the dvd with the dvd-r, You have about 8 sec, tray will close and game will load.
I can confirm this does work with GS2v2.01 not sure about AR2 v2.0

Thanks for you help... I manage to get it running :)))

the dvd discs are pioneer so I didn't think it was a problem with reading of the dvd

The instructions that I got with the mod chip to boot dvd-r backups were slightly different and that's what was stopping the discs from booting.
