I believe the Plex won't recognise it as 99min but it will burn to 99min - try overburn.

hey

thanks for the guidance, people. I sent plextor an email and they actually said...

"Dear Sir,

All the Plextor Recorders support the standard cd formats.

The CD's you are referring to aren't Standard therefore they are not supported.

At this time we cannot tell when or if these CD's will be supported.

Kind regards,

Gert Poelmans

Customer Service Engineer"

............ how much does that SUCK?!

They will never officially announce their drives can do things that don't conform to the CD standards such as the 99mins cd's, SD2

is it a way that this can be done thru the firmware?

possibly.

plextor have recently released a firmware upgrade for the burner.

i flashed the drive, but still no luck

What are they? are they new ones?

PlextorFan

they're not really 'new' cos they have been around for a while. They've only recently come to light after the consumer explosion in CDRW drives.
They just enable you to burn 99mins/900MB to a CD.

p.s - themis_t, could you email me some links to these 'other sites' you're refferring to?? Suraj_o**********com

Cheers.

fireburner will burn til its out of data. you can tell nero to burn 99 minutes, but if your writer doesnt like it, *pop* goes the laser
